Hyderabadi dum · since 1974
Royal Dum House layers long-grain basmati, saffron, and hand-ground spices in a sealed handi and lets the dum do the work. Deeply aromatic, gently spiced, unmistakably regal.
Our story
What began as a single copper handi in a Hyderabadi courtyard is today Royal Dum House — a house of dum biryani and Mughlai classics. Three generations later, we still seal every handi with dough, cook it over a low flame, and open it only at your table.
Our masalas are roasted and ground in-house each morning, our meats are marinated overnight, and our biryani rice is aged for a year before it ever meets the dum. Nothing is rushed; everything is layered.

“The chicken dum biryani arrived still sealed and the aroma when they opened it — unreal. Easily the best I have had outside Hyderabad.”
“Mutton biryani was fall-apart tender and not oily at all. The Double Ka Meetha finished the meal perfectly.”
“Great Mughlai curries and fresh naan. Service was warm and the room feels genuinely royal. Will return.”
